A Journey of Determination: My Mother’s Inspiring Legacy
Growing up in a rural area, my mother was determined to pursue education as a path to a stable career, freeing herself from strenuous labor. Her dedication, particularly in mathematics, propelled her academic success.
Living in a coastal region, she chose to study aquaculture and seafood processing, envisioning a future where her knowledge would secure meaningful work in her community. After five years of rigorous study, she graduated with expertise in information technology and English, well-prepared for a competitive job market.
She began her career as a Quality Control (QC) inspector at Seaprodex Vietnam while simultaneously earning a second degree in foreign trade economics. Her diligence led to rapid promotions, first as a line manager at a Japanese seafood venture, then as a senior manager at a Korean firm specializing in global seafood exports.
In 2009, at just 36, she founded her own company, leveraging her industry expertise and international connections to build a thriving business. By 2014, recognizing market demand, she co-established another company, exporting seafood such as fish, pangasius, shrimp, and squid to major global markets. In 2017, she and her relatives launched the Bien Dong seafood processing factory, now recognized for its high standards, including FDA, HACCP, BRC, and HALAL certifications.

Introduction of my mom's company
Accompanying my mother on factory visits, I witnessed firsthand the challenges of labor-intensive work, inspiring me to explore industrial solutions to improve efficiency. Her perseverance and success motivate me to excel academically, with the goal of contributing to our family's legacy and making a meaningful impact.
A Journey of Growth: Lessons from the Seafood Export Business
I vividly remember being just four years old when my mother founded her first seafood export company, Safe Seafood & Construction. One day, she was on a call with a potential Egyptian client considering a $240,000 shrimp order. Hearing my voice in the background, he grew curious, and my mother handed me the phone. I confidently introduced myself in English and asked about his day. Amused and impressed, he later told my mother that "You have a remarkably polite and well-mannered son who articulates himself excellently in English. Speaking with him reassures me that you are an exceptional mother who has invested significantly in his education and instilled strong values in him. I have no doubt that you are a trustworthy individual, and based on this interaction, I am inclined to place this order. Should everything proceed smoothly, I look forward to continuing our business relationship.”

As a reward, my mother often invited me to client meetings, where I observed negotiations and business dynamics firsthand. Over time, I became more involved, contacting potential customers, promoting seafood products, and even closing sales. With each successful deal, I earned incentives that covered household expenses like rent and school fees while also allowing me to support local charities.
These experiences taught me the value of financial independence, the impact of strong business relationships, and the importance of giving back. Working alongside my mother not only deepened my understanding of commerce but also instilled in me a profound respect for the dedication required to sustain a thriving enterprise.
The inspiration to become an inventor
From a young age, I dreamed of becoming an inventor. My childhood was filled with assembling Lego and exploring how objects like rotating chairs and vehicles worked. I was fascinated by the mechanics behind movement and design.
A major inspiration for this dream was my mother. After exhausting workdays, she still managed household chores, and I wished I could ease her burden. I promised to invent a robot that would help her, ensuring she had more time to rest, even when I wasn't home.
When asked what I wanted to be, I always answered, “A scientist.” By sixth grade, learning about great inventors reinforced my ambition. My family’s encouragement, along with the nickname “young inventor,” fueled my determination. I know the path ahead is challenging, but with passion and perseverance, I believe I can create innovations that make life better for my mother and many others.

A Tet of Inspiration: Fueling My Inventor’s Dream
During Tet 2019, I spent my holiday at my uncle’s house, where my cousins eagerly awaited me. Beyond the festive joy, I had the chance to learn from my uncle, whose creations reignited my passion for invention.
Watching him build an automatic irrigation system, I observed every step, from assembling pipes to programming controls. He explained how it efficiently watered plants with minimal effort, and I was thrilled to assist in selecting materials and testing the system.
My excitement grew when he transformed an old bicycle into an electric bike. My cousins and I eagerly took turns riding it, amazed at how he gave new life to something ordinary.
These experiences strengthened my Creative Aspiration, the dream of inventing practical solutions like my uncle. Tet 2019 was more than just a celebration; it was a defining moment that fueled my passion for innovation.
